The Data Management Committee (DMC) develops and manages UNCG’s data strategy and is responsible for oversight and management of institutional data governance, data quality, and campus data literacy initiatives.

The primary role of the DMC is to build a campus culture of data literacy that is focused on delivering business value through the intelligent use of accurate, accessible institutional data. The DMC is responsible for the oversight and management of enterprise data governance, data quality, and campus data literacy initiatives and for developing the strategy, operational framework, tools, training, and services that enable management of UNCG’s institutional data as a strategic asset and effective data sharing and collaboration across university functional groups.

The DMC works closely with the Executive Steering Committee to operationalize data sharing, eliminate bottlenecks that prevent ready access to institutional data, identify and act on opportunities to improve data analytics and other data-related business processes and systems, and generate actionable analytical insights to inform enterprise strategy.
